This ground beef keto recipe is one of my favorites. It is tasy, cheesy and absolutely mouthwatering! If you somehow have leftovers when you are done with the dish, it tastes even better the next day. Perfect for a quick dish because it only takes 30 minutes to prepare.

I love this tasty casserole so much that when I can’t think of a keto dinner idea, I make it. And it really couldn’t be easier. Fry up some bacon, cook ground beef, sprinkle with spices and grated cheese, add in some cream cheese and bake!

When you are looking for a low-carb and keto friendly dinner recipe, this casserole ticks all the boxes. You will be licking your lips when you eat this delicious keto meal.

Keto Ground Beef and Bacon Casserole Recipe


This is a simple recipe with few ingredients. I give the exact measurements in the recipe card further down the page. Here is a quick overview of the ingredients we will be using.

Bacon: This is what gives that extra burst of flavor and fat. I prefer to use streaky bacon because of the fat content as well as the crunchiness when fried.

Ground beef: I like to use lean beef because we will be getting the tasty fat from the bacon and the cheese used in the recipe. If you want a fattier ground beef you can but then you will need to use a reduced-fat cream cheese to bring the fat content down slightly.

Spices: Cayenne pepper, garlic powder, ginger powder, onion powder. Make sure you use fresh spices, you want to get the most out of the flavor! Old and stale spices are never a good thing.

Salt and pepper: Freshly ground black pepper and kosher salt.

Cream cheese: Full-fat plain cream cheese gives this dish a wonderful mouth feel and bursts with flavor.

Grated (shredded) cheddar: Cheddar has a rather sharp flavor so it gives a fuller experience when eating this dish. If you prefer something a little less sharp, you can do it with Gouda cheese.


This Keto ground beef casserole is super easy to make and I will give detailed instructions in the recipe card below.

Firstly, you will need to brown the ground beef and fry the bacon lightly.

Next, get your shredded cheese and cream cheese and mix them into the meat.

Finally, put the mixture into a casserole dish and put a little more shredded cheese on top. Bake until the cheese is melted, take out, and enjoy! Easy Keto ground beef casserole!

  • Olive oil to coat pan for cooking
  • 1kg (2.2lb) ground beef (lean)
  • 200g (7oz) streaky bacon
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt (the bacon will give saltiness as well so don’t overdo it)
  • 1/2 teaspoon to 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper (or to taste)
  • 1.5 teaspoon onion powder
  • 3 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne.
  • 4 oz full fat cream cheese
  • 1 cup cheddar or Gouda cheese freshly shredded/grated.


  1. Preheat your oven before you start the process. You want it to be nice and hot by the time you put it in. 400 degrees F (205 C)
  2. Heat your large pan or skillet on your stove and put olive oil in to coat the pan.
  3. Add the ground beef and the bacon into the skillet. You want the juices to spread out together and meld into one great flavor. Make sure the meat is cooked. This will take about 5 minutes.
  4. Reduce heat to medium and and add in salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, and cayenne. Mix it thoroughly for about 30 seconds.
  5. Add in cream cheese little by little until it is fully incorporated into the dish. Do not rush this part, you want the cream cheese to be fully mixed with the meat.
  6. Turn the heat off and mix half a cup of your shredded cheese into the mixture.
  7. Transfer everything into a casserole dish and put the other half cup of cheese on top.
  8. Bake the casserole until the cheese is melted, roughly 10 minutes.
